Skye Live Festival gives away free tickets to key workers

SKYE Live Festival is giving away free tickets to key workers for the opening night on Thursday May 12. 

200 free tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis to staff who work for NHS Scotland, Health & Social Care, Care Workers, Scottish Ambulance Service, Police Scotland and Scottish Fire & Rescue. 

The concert will take place in Portree and feature Donnie Munro and Friends with special guests Mànran.

Skye Live Festival was first established in 2015 and takes place on the peninsula Am Meall, otherwise known as The Lump, in Portree on the Isle of Skye.

The event brings together an "eclectic mix of contemporary, traditional & electronic one of Scotland’s most unique and special festival sites."

How to get free tickets for Skye Live as a key worker

Tickets will be available to key workers on a first come first serve basis and can be booked by visiting Skye Live's website.

Ticket holders will be required to show ID upon entry to the concert as proof of employment. 

If you are not a key worker, a limited number of tickets are also available for purchase to the general public.

Munro said: "I am delighted we are able to offer this special gesture for all NHS and Emergency Service workers who served their communities with such dignity, dedication, and professionalism throughout the Covid crisis. Concert goers will also have the opportunity of making donations to the Ukraine Appeal, at collection points on the festival site."

A festival spokesperson addedd: "We are indebted to those who kept us and our loved ones safe throughout the pandemic – we hope this gesture goes some way to showing our thanks to them."
