Skydiver killed in WA as parachute fails

A 30-year-old skydiver competing in a competition in WA had died after his parachute failed to open. (AAP)

A skydiver has died after his parachute failed to open during a competition north of Perth.

Providing details of Sunday's incident at Jurien Bay, police said the 30-year-old died at the scene.

An investigation will be conducted by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority and the Australian Parachute Federation.

Police will also prepare a report for the coroner.
