Sky TV users get access to 55 million songs as new service launches today

A 'shared music entertainment experience' is coming to Sky TV today.

The TV provider has announced a deal with a UK-based music service that will give users access to millions of songs and a new karaoke-style singalong feature.

Available on Sky Q, ROXi will give customers access to 55 million songs, thousands of playlists and radio stations, interactive quizzes where you can put your musical knowledge to the test as well as fun-for-all-the-family games and karaoke

Up until now, ROXi's service has only been available through their own dedicated Music Entertainment Console that typically retails at the £100 mark.

For the next 30 days, ROXi will be available free of charge to Sky Q customers with a normal subscription price beyond that for £6.99 a month.

Rob Lewis, CEO of ROXi, is delighted that this new collaboration with the UK's leading broadcaster will bring the service to a wider audience, saying that “by the end of 2022, we're aiming to make ROXi available to some 500m TV's.”

One of the new features available through ROXi is the ability to duet with your favourite artists in 'Sing With The Stars'. There are also meditative relaxation audio-visuals if you'd sooner unwind.

You can find ROXi on your Sky Q box by simply saying 'Open ROXi' on your voice remote. Alternatively, you can find it in Sky Q's apps section where it joins a host of other multimedia entertainment options including YouTube, YouTube Kids, Netflix and Disney+

Sky's Chief Product Officer Fraser Stirling says: “ROXi is the latest in a line of brilliant services to be added to Sky Q, so you can get music, games, online video, education and TV all in one place.”

Sky Q starts from £25 a month on a standard 18-month contract. To find out more, go to sky.com/shop.
