Sky to raise TV, Broadband and phone prices by £43

Sky is set to raise its prices for TV, Broadband and mobile customers from the start of April.

The changes will affect millions of UK homes as prices hike to keep in line with inflation rates.

Sky says the average price increase will be less than 5% and it will be notifying affected customers in the coming weeks.

Broadband and TV package price changes will come into place from April 1, 2022 and landline customers will see bills rise from the beginning of May.

Sky Mobile will also reintroduce roaming charges in the UK, with a daily cost cap of £2.

These increases follow last month’s news that Virgin Media will be increasing some of its prices by an average of £4 .70 a month at the beginning of March.

Several other providers, including BT, TalkTalk and Vodafone, will also be increasing broadband prices by as much as 9% in spring.

Broadband changes include; Sky Broadband Essential rising from £25 to £27.50 and Superfast Broadband increasing from £28 to £30.50.

TV package price changes include; BT Sport rising from £27 to £28, Sky Signature will rise from £26 to £27 and Sky HD will increase from £7 to £8.

Phone calls will also be affected with Talk rates for UK landlines and mobiles increasing from 20p per minute to 22p per minute.

Ofcom rules state that if providers raise the price of their broadband, mobile phone or landline deals by a rate greater than inflation, they must then allow customers to leave their contract penalty-free. However, these increases are lower than the current inflation rate.

Sky says any customers struggling with bills should contact customer service to discuss options.
