Sky Sports viewers concerned as Shane Lowry takes tumble in Ryder Cup

Shane Lowry avoided disaster as he escaped unscathed after a nasty fall at the Ryder Cup.

The Offaly man made his Ryder Cup debut on Friday as he was paired with fellow Irishman Rory McIlroy in the Friday fourball.

And on the sixth hole as Lowry found himself out of position despite a solid start to fourball action.

And the 2019 Open Champion lost his footing and slipped down the hill.

There was concern for the Esker Hills man after his tumble but thankfully Lowry got back up and proceeded to the tough par 3 7th hole and hit a green in regulation as both he and McIlroy proceeded with their match against Tony Finau and Patrick Cantlay.

And viewers said of the fall: "Lowry took a bad fall. Can easily happen at this course. Surprised we haven’t seen it more. Hope he’s ok, I think he is"

While another added: "Praying for Shane Lowry"
