Sky Sports to show Cricket World Cup final on free-to-air TV if England reach Lord's showpiece

Sky Sports will show the Cricket World Cup Final on free-to-air television if England qualify for the Lord's showpiece.

The hosts have secured their place in the semi-finals after back-to-back victories over India then New Zealand in the last of their group stage matches.

England will now face either India or Australia in Thursday's semi-final at Edgbaston and Eoin Morgan is hopeful the venue will play into his side's hands.

“It’s a place that we really like playing,” said Morgan. “If we had a choice of where we would play our group-stage games, Edgbaston, The Oval and Trent Bridge would probably be the three grounds where we would have played the nine games, so it is comforting that we are going to one of those grounds.”

New Zealand will likely contest the second semi-final ahead of the Lord's final on July 14.

It will be the fifth World Cup final to be held the historic ground, but the first since 1999.
