Sky Sports reporter urges Longstaff brothers not to follow in footsteps of Gary and Phil Neville

Sky Sports reporter Patick Davison has sent a warning to Newcastle brothers Sean and Matty Longstaff.

The Toon duo starred as their side secured a crucial win over Manchester United at St. James' Park on Sunday.

While Sean, 21, made his debut in December 2018, younger brother Matty has been made to wait for his bow by Steve Bruce.

The 19-year-old finally got his chance against United and delivered a man of the match performance, scoring the winning goal for the Magpies.

The Longstaffs followed in the footsteps of brothers to play in the Premier League, with Gary and Phil Neville the most famous.

And Davison has urged the two Newcastle midfielders not to quite copy the Nevilles.

Posting a picture of the fresh-faced former Manchester United stars eating a lollipop, Davison joked: "Longstaff brothers beware.

"There will be lots of requests and a lot of ‘opportunities’ after yesterday. Don’t say yes to everything."

Sean and Matty Longstaff couldn't hide their delight at full-time on Sunday and Neville was particularly impressed with their post-match interview.

He tweeted: "The Longstaff brothers made me happy yesterday ! We see hundreds of interviews every year where players/managers are concentrated, focused and on guard.

"The purity, the joy and the love of football was amazing and it should be shown to every young player

Neville had earlier offered a comparison between the pair on Sky Sports.

"Sean looks a little bit more composed, controlled. When his younger brother was running around like a pinball, he was covering the spaces.

"He looks a bit more mature and experienced whereas Matty is more spirited, instinctive."
