Sky Sports release bizarre Celtic 22-goal salute as Aberdeen excluded from big match promo

Sky Sports have posted a strange promotional video for Aberdeen vs Celtic that features 22 Hoops goals and none from Aberdeen.

The one minute compilation video features a green counter tallying up 22 goals from Celtic at Pittodrie going back to the Brendan Rodgers era.

The footage features former stars such as Kieran Tierney, Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair as well as those in the current squad.

It begins with Ian Crocker saying: "In recent years this fixture has become one of the most significant showdowns in Scotland, a game that always has an edge.".

Goal footage begins with commentary and each goal is tallied up on the counter.

Not a single Aberdeen goal is played on the video which finishes with the Hoops' 2-1 win at Pittodrie on February 16 this year.

Furious Dons supporters moved to criticise the twitter post, questioning the significance of the 22 goal tally with @RyxnWxtonn saying: "Didn't realise it was Celtic vs Celtic today?"

It's not the first time Sky's coverage of the Scottish game has sparked controversy with their use of incorrect graphic for clubs becoming a regular point of consternation.

The gaffe comes as the company has been widely praised for a renewed focus on the Scottish game this season with in-depth coverage and the addition of the likes of Ally McCoist and Darren Fletcher to their punditry roster.
