Sky Sports pundit talks Nottingham Forest transfer needs, Aro Muric error and display vs West Brom

Nottingham Forest opened the new campaign with a disappointing 2-1 defeat at home to fellow promotion hopefuls West Bromwich Albion and the result led to reaction aplenty.

Forest were offered the Keith Andrews' treatment post-match as the Sky Sports pundit discussed what went wrong for Sabri Lamouchi's side.

Matty Cash opened the scoring for Forest with a wonderful right-footed strike from outside the box but the Baggies soon levelled thanks to Kyle Edwards' shot which crept under Aro Muric, who is on loan from Manchester City.

Muric was again caught out before the break by Matty Phillips' cross turned shot which gave the visitors a fortunate 2-1 lead at half-time.

Forest were unable to breach the Baggies in the second half, which left Andrews questioning the club's attacking threat.

The former Blackburn Rovers star also discussed Muric's error and where Forest need to strengthen before the transfer window slams shut on August 8.

Here is the full transcript of what he had to say on Sky Sports after the game.

Andrews on Forest performance and opening goal

"The first 10 or 12 minutes were brilliant. The whole stadium bought into it.

"I don't buy into the fact that the manager said they deserved more. He has a tough job on his hands.

"We know what happens if it doesn't work.

"I felt at times that Forest were too lightweight. Their top players didn't affect the game enough.

"The ball sat up so well for Cash. He was one of the square pegs in the round holes but he started the game so well."

Andrews on Muric error

"I'm not one for digging out young players. He should save the first one. He's unlucky on the second one.

"After those goals, I thought he dealt well with the situation."

Andrews on lack of attacking threat

"West Brom sat in and were dirty and did it well. Joe Lolley should have provided more spark and they were lacking something."

Andrews on Forest's transfer needs

"Financial Fair Play has to come into play at this club. It's imperative they balance the books and get players out.

"They need to strengthen defensively, especially at full-back.

"Out of possession they looked vulnerable in the midfield."
