Sky Sports pundit says Cardiff City should have had penalty against Bristol City as he makes telling Aden Flint point

Sky Sports pundit Keith Andrews has admitted that Cardiff City should've had a penalty for Nathan Baker's pull on Aden Flint.

The ex-Bristol City man appeared to be tugged back by Baker in the penalty area although his appeals were waved away by the referee.

With the score at 0-0 heading into the half-time break, replays suggested that Baker was a little fortunate to get away with the tug on the towering centre-back.

It was Cardiff that came closest to opening the scoring with Junior Hoilett's curling effort crashing off the woodwork.

However, Andrews admitted at the break that they should've had the chance to open the scoring from 12 yards.

"You see it here, I think Aden Flint is the one who initially makes the contact which by the letter of the law should be a free out here because he's grabbing him," he told Sky Sports.

"Then when it moves on to the next angle, Nathan Baker is so worried about Aden Flint and what he can produce aerially.

"This is the one, he pulls him down and if the referee sees what we're seeing now, I think he gives a penalty. However, if he goes back three, four seconds, he probably gives a free-kick the other way so I've got a bit of sympathy for him."

On the lack of an appeal from Flint, he added: "Normally players' reactions give something away there and Aden Flint, maybe it's just the nature of him and the fact he's a little bit old school and gets on with the game.

"If he really appeals for that, if his team-mates really appeal for that, maybe it swings the decision his way."
