Sky Sports pundit predicts frustration for Bristol City and more misery for Leeds United

Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has predicted a frustrating result for Bristol City on Wednesday as Derby County visit Ashton Gate.

Bristol City's home form this season has been less than impressive (as in previous seasons), sitting 16th in the home form table, and Prutton thinks that the form is not going improve on Wednesday night.

Derby visit the Gate in good form, having lost just once in the last eight league games and have been rejuvenated by the signing of Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney.

However, despite having a poor away record this season Prutton predicts Derby will rescue a point against Bristol City.

He said: "As has been the case for much of the last few years, Bristol City have been much better away from home but they will be eager to put things right at Ashton Gate after falling out of the top six after that disappointing defeat to Birmingham.

"Derby have been pretty hit-and-miss for most of the season, but since Wayne Rooney's debut they've won seven of the last nine in all competitions and will no doubt have their eyes on a late drive for the play-offs."

A 2-2 draw is being predicted by the former Nottingham Forest midfielder, who is also expecting more misery for Leeds United as they face automatic promotion rivals Brentford.

Elsewhere, he believes Nottingham Forest and Millwall with pick up solid wins.

  • Swansea 1-1 QPR
  • Barnsley 1-2 Birmingham
  • Blackburn 2-1 Hull
  • Brentford 2-1 Leeds
  • Nottingham Forest 2-0 Charlton
  • Wigan 1-0 Middlesbrough
  • Bristol City 2-2 Derby
  • Millwall 2-1 Fulham
  • Huddersfield 1-2 Cardiff
  • Luton 0-1 Sheffield Wednesday
  • Reading 1-2 West Brom
  • Stoke 1-2 Preston

Bristol City will be looking to get over their 2-1 loss to Birmingham at Ashton Gate with a win over Derby, and Robins coach Dean Holden said it's not just Wayne Rooney that they have to worry about.

Speaking in Monday's press conference, he said: "They'll be hoping that that they were a bit higher in the table than they are at the moment but they're not too far off it and they'll be secretly thinking that they can go on a run and sneak in. It's a massive test for us.

"They've got the obvious threat of one of the country's best in Wayne Rooney, that everybody is talking about.

"At the same time there are threats throughout the team going forward. We don't have to just concentrate on him - there are other threats we need to be aware of but certainly when we take the game to the opposition and we come out flying we're a match for anyone."
