Sky Sports pundit makes his prediction ahead of Fulham's clash with Manchester City

Premier League football returns this weekend, and for Fulham it's a case of diving in at the deep end.

The Whites welcome Premier League champions Manchester City to Craven Cottage for Saturday's lunchtime kick-off, in a fixture which will arguably be their toughest fixture of the campaign so far.

Scott Parker's side are merely playing for pride at this point, with the west London side 13 points from safety with just seven games remaining.

As for the visitors, Pep Guardiola's side have it all to play for as they continue their tussle with Liverpool for the Premier League title.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Paul Merson thinks that Manchester City will simply have too much for Fulham, and expects them to return to the top of the table - even if it's just for 24 hours.

He said: "This is a nice game for City, they can throw the pressure on Liverpool before they play.

"I'm a great believer of playing first, you always want to take the first shot. I can't see anything but a win for Pep Guardiola's side, it would be a miracle if Fulham got a result.

"I just hope Fulham continue doing well under Scott Parker and he gets the job because they have improved under him."
