Arsenal great Charlie Nicholas has provided a prediction on Granit Xhaka's fate at the Gunners following the infamous scenes in the 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace last Sunday.
Xhaka was installed as Unai Emery's captain earlier this season after heavy debate over who should be handed the honour for the rest of the campaign.
The midfielder's performances had been merely solid up to that point and since he has hardly set the world alight, something which led to the poor response from fans last weekend.
A section of Arsenal supporters cheered when it was announced that Xhaka was going to be substituted during the Palace game, with the 27-year-old responding by sarcastically cupping his ear towards the fans in question, while it also appeared that he shouted obscenities to the supporters.
Whilst the cheers and jeers from fans have been criticised, Xhaka has naturally been widely condemned for his actions too.
Emery has since confirmed that he will not feature in the Gunners' clash at home to Wolves tomorrow (Saturday), with Nicholas predicting that Xhaka's time at the Emirates will come to an end in the January transfer window.

"I'm not surprised (that he's been dropped). I think it's broken now," Nicholas told Sky Sports.
"I think he is still very upset. I don't see a long-term future. I wouldn't be surprised come January that at the age of 27 he makes the decision to move on."
Nicholas, meanwhile, also offered his view on how he sees the game against Wolves unfolding in the capital.
"I find it impossible to predict what is going to happen with my team's defence," Nicholas added.
"Wolves have not been as impressive of late, though, so I will go with a narrow Arsenal win."
