Former Chelsea goalkeeper Rob Green believes Michael Oliver was right to give Arsenal a penalty against his former club on Boxing night.
Oliver pointed to the spot to give Arsenal the chance to take the lead against the Blues, an opportunity Alexandre Lacazette duly took before the Gunners went on to complete a 3-1 win.
The penalty decision was criticised by Gary Neville on the Sky Sports commentary with Kieran Tierney going down 'softly' under the challenge of Reece James.
But former Chelsea stopper Green has claimed that Oliver was right to point to the spot, even if Tierney was clever in the way he felt the contact from his opponent and went down.
"You can see why Michael Oliver would give the penalty. He is looking for two things," he said on Sky Sports.
"He has got the right side of Reece James and he has just gone across and there is a challenge, a movement from Reece James to get back across. You almost have to bite the bullet as a full-back there, swallow your pride and let him go by.
"The options are limited for Tierney when he looks up and sees Blue shirts in the box. But Reece James tries to get back and there is just that contact on the back of the leg and Tierney changes his running motion.
"We have seen it time and again.
"The referee is in a good position and he is looking for those key points."
The defeat makes it three losses in four games for Chelsea, leaving them sixth in the table, and they could find themselves as many as nine points behind leaders Liverpool should Jurgen Klopp's men win on Sunday.
