Sky Sports presenter responds brutally to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's title comment

Sky Sports presenter Simon Lazenby provided a brutally frank response to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's hopes that Arsenal can win the Premier League this season.

The Gunners striker was at Sunday's Italian Grand Prix at Monza, and was quizzed before the race by Sky Sports' Rachel Brookes.

After being asked whether it was Arsenal's year, Aubameyang responded: "Yeah, hopefully."

But as the camera panned away from Aubameyang and back to the starting grid, Lazenby quipped: "But probably not."

Arsenal have made a decent start to the season, earning seven points out of a possible twelve from a run of four matches which have included a trip to Anfield and a north London derby.

They now face a slightly more favourable run of fixtures following the international break, with basement club Watford up first.

That is followed by Europa League action in Germany against Eintracht Frankfurt, the visit of Aston Villa to the Emirates, a Carabao Cup tie with Nottingham Forest, and then a crunch clash with Man Utd.

Gunners boss Unai Emery may have to make do without midfield pair Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira, who were both injured during international duty this week.

Both players will have to prove their fitness before Sunday's trip to Vicarage Road, but Matteo Guendouzi is primed to play an important role in their absence.

The 20-year-old could yet be used as the midfield anchor behind academy graduate Joe Willock and new signing Dani Ceballos.

Guendouzi is currently away with the France squad in what is his first call-up to the senior side.

And despite the reward for his fine club form, France boss Didier Deschamps heeded a word of warning for anyone expecting too much of the youngster.

"Do not ask too much, he's a young player, who is still the Espoirs generation, who plays a lot of matches with Arsenal where there is strong competition," Deschamps said, as reported by FootMercato .

"He's the modern midfielder, box to box as they say there, with a lot of power and technical quality too. He's there. What I expect from young people is that they bring this freshness, this dynamism.

"He is a very young player but with a very big potential."
