Presenter Kirsty Gallacher and former athlete Iwan Thomas are the final celebrities to be confirmed for the new series of BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing.
Gallacher is best known for her role as a Sky Sports News presenter and has fronted the broadcaster’s coverage of major events including the Ryder Cup, Wimbledon and the Olympics.
She has also fronted a number of entertainment shows, including co-presenting Sky1’s Gladiators with Ian Wright, and The Games on Channel 4.
“I’ve always been a huge fan of Strictly so am very excited to be taking part in the show this year,” she said. “Sport and fitness have always been a big part of my life but dancing is an entirely new challenge for me.”
Thomas, the former 400m sprinter, presents features on the BBC One Show and the BT Sport’s magazine show Moto GP Tonight.
“I love watching the show and I can’t believe I’m swapping my running spikes for dancing shoes,” he said.
The duo join a line up which includes Peter Andre, Jeremy Vine, Katie Derham, Call The Midwife actor Helen George and Superstar singer Jamelia.
