People up and down the country were left bemused in the closing stages of Manchester United's clash with Aston Villa this evening, as Sky Sports' Main Event coverage cut to an unexpected advert break during stoppage time.
With Villa midfielder Emiliano Buendia down on the deck and receiving treatment from the medical staff, Sky Sports Main Event's coverage of the Premier League encounter, which finished 2-2, cut to an advert break without any sort of introduction, leaving those watching confused.
The game was set up for a tense and frantic finale, with Villa battling back from 2-0 down to earn a point, only for an advert break to threaten to miss any last-gasp action.
Thankfully nothing was missed during the temporary mishap which Sky later apologised for, confirming it was a technical error.
Nevertheless, those watching on Sky Sports Main Event were bemused by the error. Below, MEN Sport has taken a close look at what some of those watching had to say in response.
Following the conclusion of the contest, Sky Sports presenter David Jones issued an apology on air, saying: "We can only really apologise if you were watching that on Sky Sports Main Event. We lost you for a couple of minutes due to a technical hitch.
"Hope you didn't miss anything too vital. If you did we'll be able to show you the best moments before we leave you here."
United, with a little over ten minutes left on the clock, lead 2-0 thanks to a Bruno Fernandes double but were forced to settle for a point thanks to goals from Jacob Ramsey and Philippe Coutinho, meaning Ralf Rangnick's side have now won just one of their last four Premier League outings.
