Sky Sports fake crowd 'trolls' Leeds vs Manchester United

Manchester United and Leeds United faced off in the Premier League for the first time since February 2004 on Sunday and it was a superb afternoon for the hosts.

Two goals inside the opening three minutes from the unlikely source of Scott McTominay put Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side on their way to only a second home victory in the league this term.

Bruno Fernandes and Victor Lindelof then extended United's lead, before Liam Cooper pulled one back for the visitors - but United piled on the misery with further second-half goals.

There is plenty of ill-feeling between the two historic rivals and United fans would have loved what Sky Sports did when their side fired into a commanding lead.

With no fans allowed in the stadium due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Sky Sports and other broadcasters have been utilising 'fake' crowd noise in the matches.

That continued to be the case for United's hosting of Leeds and the broadcaster cheekily decided to mock the Whites and their performance.

Sky played the chant of 'Leeds are falling apart again', a chant that has been regularly adopted by rival supporters mocking Leeds' fortunes.

Since relegation in 2004, Leeds struggled to find their way back into the top-flight, even spending a period of time in the third-tier of English football.

Those struggles saw the chant become even more popular by rival supporters and disliked by Leeds fans - so Sky's antics certainly ruffled some feathers.
