Sky Sports expert Gary Weaver has confirmed Liverpool's interest in Leeds United loanee Ben White, revealing a scout from the Reds has watched 'almost every game' this season.
The Brighton defender has become a star in Marcelo Bielsa's side after slotting into the defence following his move to Elland Road in the summer transfer window.
His performances have played a huge part in Leeds' drive for promotion to the Premier League, where the Whites sit top of the table - although the campaign has been suspended indefinitely due to the coronavirus crisis.
White has caught plenty of attention during his spell with Leeds and it's now been revealed that Liverpool are keeping close eyes on his services.
"There’s so much pressure on Ben White’s shoulders but you don’t see it. He’s so cool and calm, he just gets on with things,” he said on Sky Sports' Championship podcast.
“I spoke to Liam Rosenior at Brighton and they had absolutely no doubts that he’d adapt to this level. Andy O’Brien, who is a Liverpool scout, has watched almost every game of Ben White. The big teams are interested.
“It’s just that calmness and composure particularly in that opening game against Bristol City, because there was a lot of pressure on Leeds to see how they’d react in the following season and particularly on him to see if he could replace (Pontus) Jansson.”
