Sky's Christmas advert reunites E.T. and the original Elliot from the 1982 blockbuster

ET and Elliot from the Steven Spielberg hit film are reunited in arguably the best Christmas advert of 2019 yet.

Guaranteed to make you reach for the tissues, broadcaster Sky has brought back the characters from E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial which was released in 1982 and has been making viewers sob since then.

But don't worry, there's no white E.T. lying by the river in this ad - E.T. is back on Earth for a surprise visit with Elliott (Swansea City supporter Henry Thomas), who now has his own family.

The old friends reconnect and there's even a special bike ride for Elliot's kids. 

Elliot is played by actor Henry Thomas who, last year, shared a picture of himself on Instagram wearing a Swansea City FC top.

He later revealed that both his mother and father's family come from Wales and he learns Welsh when he's over here to help him out with useful phrases.

Last year the star of Haunting of Hill House and Doctor Sleep appeared on Lorraine and explained: " A few years ago I actually tracked down my DNA progression and found out a lot of information about the family I didn't know.

"Because, we'd been in America a long time.

"Both my mother and father's family come from Wales - north and south."
