Sky offers free Netflix in early Black Friday deal

Netflix has ditched its free trial to UK customers but Sky is offering to give it away free as part of a new package.

Sky has launched a deal hoping to encourage those who would previously have added the free trial to their Sky subscriptions. The TV provider has launched a package that bundles up the basic Sky channels package and adds in Netflix for £25.

The early Black Friday-style deal adds Netflix to the basic Sky subscription and people with existing Netflix accounts can switch them over to their Sky subscriptions in order to keep the price of the TV streaming service down.

However, customers may want to hold out for the week of Black Friday, where the TV provider is expected to cut prices or offer freebies in the annual online sale day. Black Friday in 2020 takes place on 27 November.

The new package may not be ideal for those who want a short period of access to Netflix because there is a minimum term of 18 months and a set up fee up to the cost of £40.

It is a cheap way of adding Netflix to a Sky bundle however, as the price is usually around £9.99 for the standard Netflix package per month.

The package is the lowest price bundle out of three new options Sky is selling. Others include a Big Bundle that adds Sky Sports, BT Sports and Sky Cinema for £52, while the same package without BT Sport is £46.
