Sky News have come under fire after accompanying a story about England's new Covid-19 supports for pubs and other businesses with a picture of arguably the most famous pub in Ireland.
Chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced an additional £1bn in financial support for the hospitality and leisure sectors in England, with every business able to claim a cash grant of £6,000 to help them survive the winter..
It mirrors the Irish Government's EWSS and the PUP, but that still doesn't excuse the tweet from Sky News on Tuesday evening.
In said tweet, featured prominently on the article was a picture of The Temple Bar, which is of course in Temple Bar, Dublin. Not England.
And Irish people were quick to hop onto the blunder.
Among them were Dublin Airport, who replied: "Em, you might want to, er, maybe rethink that picture perhaps. Unless the UK Chancellor is actually supporting bars & restaurants in Dublin".
Others urged the airport to "say nothing and take the cash!" while plenty of people accused Sky News, and Britain as a whole of being 'at it again.;
Rishi Sunak's payment plan will pay firms such as pubs and restaurants in England a one-off £6,000 fund which will be administered by local authorities and to be available in the coming weeks.
A Treasury spokesman told The Mirror the Department for Business has urged local councils to distribute the funding within 10 days.
The Government also intends to use taxpayers' cash to cover the cost of statutory sick pay for Covid-related absences for firms with fewer than 250 employees.
Cultural organisations in England can also access a further £30million funding during the winter via the culture recovery fund, the Treasury said.
