Sky News' Kay Burley in Twitter spat with 'rude and disrespectful' Julia Hartley-Brewer

Kay Burley and Julia Hartley-Brewer have reignited their feud as the pair have hit out at each other on Twitter in the wake of Prince Philip's death.

His Royal Highness Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, was the 99-year-old husband to The Queen and his passing saw tributes being paid throughout the day.

With this, many commentators had been called into TV and radio stations across the country to share their thoughts and condolences with viewers and listeners.

It was this that prompted Kay and Julia to exchange words, with the latter being labelled "rude and disrespectful" as the temperatures rose on social media.

The pair have been at loggerheads ever since and it was TalkRADIO breakfast show host Julia that prompted this particular spat.

Kay Burley labelled Julia Hartley-Brewer "disrespectful" (Sky UK Limited.)

Times Radio breakfast show presenter, Stig Abell, had tweeted that he was heading back into the station after news of Prince Philip's death had broken.

He tweeted: "Heading into @TimesRadio where I will be continuing the reaction to the death of Prince Philip, alongside @cathynewman from 3pm."

This brought a reply from Julia, who wrote: "How very Burleyesque of you..."

Sky News presenter Kay was not going to leave that without comment, and soon fired back by sharing Julia's tweet with the words: "Rude and disrespectful, as per."

Kay has had a bit more time on her hands in recent times after she was suspended by the broadcaster for breaking lockdown.

The TV presenter was banned from being on-air for six months after she was found to be in Covid breach for her 60th birthday.

It was expected Kay would return to her post "in early June" but there are thoughts that she may have quit her job as the longest-serving anchor on Sky News.

The hints were all over her social media profile as the presenter removed Sky from her bio.

Originally her Twitter bio used to read: "The longest serving anchor on Sky."

It now reads: "More live TV than anyone else, yes, really. Animal lover. Mountain climber. Impossibly proud mum."
