Sky News' brave Jacquie Beltrao shares surgery details for stage 4 breast cancer

Jacquie Beltrao has posted a video on social media saying that she is having surgery today in her latest battle against grade three, stage four breast cancer.

The reporter appeared slightly upbeat, but admitted that she is “a little bit worried” about what she called “operation clear out your lymph nodes.”

However, the 55-year-old said she’s all set and in really good hands for what she described as quite a short operation.

She asked her followers to wish her luck for the operation and told them she’d speak to them again when she woke up.

The video showed Jacquie wearing a hospital gown and compression socks with a drawn on arrow above her left breast showing where the surgery would happen.

Many celebrities flocked to the former Olympian’s Instagram post to send her thoughtful messages.

This included Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins, who said: “Good luck Jacqs!! Sending loads of love.”

Fashion designer Melissa Odabash also commented, saying: “Sending you lots a [sic] healing energy your [sic] on the way to being beyond health.”

On the video, the former Olympian sighed and said that she “feels like I’ve been here before and that’s because I have”.

Jacquie had previously fought breast cancer in 2013 and announced in June last year that it had returned.

Doctors had told her that the cancerous lump this time was incurable, but in August she received the amazing news that it had shrunk to half its size.

Last month she revealed that she takes over 30 pills a day in her fight against the disease.

She was asked by a follower on Instagram what they were and answered: “Turmeric, fish oil, oregano oil, sulfurophane, indole carbinole 3, vit D, magnesium, red clover, grape seed, psyllium husk, sodium butyrate, apple cider vinegar, reservation, dandelion root, honokiol, lycopene, berberine, reishi & a probiotic.”
