From films to games, most of us regularly download content to our smartphones or tablets.
While most media takes a few minutes to download on standard broadband , this time could be greatly reduced thanks to Sky ’s new Ultrafast service.
The new broadband offers speeds up to 12 times faster than Sky’s standard broadband, with average download speeds of 145Mbps and 285Mbps, depending on the product.
This means that an HD movie could be downloaded to a tablet in minutes, while a 4K TV show is streamed to a smartphone at the same time.
Kathryn Imrie, Director of Broadband at Sky, said: “Fast and reliable broadband is an essential part of the family household today, and it’s only going to get more important in future.
“We want our customers to be able to do even more online, on more devices, without seeing their connection lag or drop.
“As a Sky Broadband Ultrafast customer, you will be able to seamlessly watch an HD movie, while your partner surfs the web and your kids are gaming in their bedroom.”
Customers can choose between two packages to access the Ultrafast broadband.
The Sky Broadband Ultrafast 1 offers average download speeds of 145Mbps, and is priced at £39/month for 18 months.
Alternatively, customers can opt from Sky Broadband Ultrafast 2, which offers average download speeds of 285Mbps, and is priced a £49/month.
