Sky Ireland customers baffled as company explain what happened TV channels last night

Many Sky Ireland channels froze for up to 30 minutes on Wednesday night leaving customers across the country baffled.

Around 9pm many viewers began to voice their concerns on social media that the Irish channels had completely frozen.

However other UK and international channels appeared to work fine.

This meant many people missed part of Ireland's thrilling 1-1 draw with Qatar on RTE Two while others saw the news cut out on them shortly after starting on RTE One.

The problem was solved shortly after 9:25pm with the company apologising to customers and promising to get to the bottom of the glitch.

A Sky spokesperson said: "Hello Everyone. We are aware of an issue this evening that affected a number of Irish channels. We investigated this as a matter of urgency and all services have been fully restored. We will work to ensure this does not happen again. Sorry for any inconvenience caused."
