Sky internet down in homes across Merseyside due to 'power issue'

Homes in large parts of Merseyside have been left without internet this evening after a 'power issue'.

Thousands of users are also struggling to make and receive phone calls.

Earlier today, the Sky Help Team posted to Twitter to say that they were aware customers were having issues getting online and making or receiving calls.

At 7.46pm Sky issued a statement, saying: "You might not be able to get online or make/receive phone calls due to a problem in your local area. We're working on fixing the problem and we'll provide an update on this page once we've discovered what is causing the fault."

Sky say they have now discovered that a 'power issue' is causing the fault for customers in North West England and Wales after customers complained on Twitter.

They said: "We've identified a power issue and our engineers are on their way to fix it now, and we'll provide an update on this page once our engineers have arrived. We're sorry for any inconvenience caused."

One customer Dion Sellers wrote on Twitter: "My son threw a right tantrum to the point his nose started bleeding! Come on sky get it sorted these kids can't survive without wifi these days it's like they've lost a limb!"

Jo-Ann Jenkins said: "Any update? When will this be fixed? Kids trying to complete online homework here!"

And Vicky Potts said: "Down in Wirral any chance it will be back on soon?? Annoying considering how expensive it is."

The ECHO have contacted Sky for comment.
