Sky internet down for thousands of people

Thousands of people across the UK are unable to access the internet on Thursday morning as problems continue with Sky Broadband.

The internet connection was lost for people across the country on Wednesday evening and appears to still be down on Thursday.

The latest issues appear to be linked to a huge outage that impacted hundreds of customers across the UK from 7pm last night.

Sky confirmed the problems that hit customers last night left some unable to get online or make/receive phone calls from their landline. The firm has not confirmed whether the issues reported this morning as a continuation of the problems last night or a new issue, reports The Express.

Independent website DownDetector, which tracks reports from customers across social media to monitor the performance of web services, reported a huge spike in complaints from Sky Broadband customers last night.

At its peak, some 2,329 customers were voicing concerns about their broadband connection not working every minute.

Complaints began to rise again this morning as people work to found they still have no connection.

The Sky support account has been replying to users that have been experiencing problems
