Millions of Sky customers are set to see a price rise in a matter of months. The broadcast giant says it is putting up broadband and pay TV prices on some of its TV packages from April 1, with landline customers seeing their bills rise from May.
Sky says average price increases will be less then five per cent. It will be writing to affected customers in the next few weeks, Which? reports.
Also due is a return of Sky Mobile roaming charges in the UK, with a daily cost cap of £2. The increases follow last month’s news that Virgin Media is increasing some of its prices by an average of £4 .70 a month from March. Providers including BT, TalkTalk and Vodafone will also be raising their broadband prices by as much as 9 per cent in spring.

How are Sky’s prices changing?
Sky’s increasing the price of several of its broadband and TV options – it says the average price increase will be around 5 per cent, or around £3.60 a month. If you’re affected by these price rises, Sky will contact you by email or post by March 24. Broadband deals Sky Broadband Essential will rise from £25 to £27.50 Sky Broadband Superfast will rise from £28 to £30.50

Phone calls
Talk rates (for UK landlines and mobiles) will increase from 20p per minute to 22p per minute.
Sky Mobile reintroduces EU roaming charges
Sky has also said it will reintroduce roaming charges for customers travelling to the EU, with a daily cap of £2.
Customers who visit Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands will be allowed to use their UK allowance at no extra cost.
Sky Mobile’s Roaming Passport Plus, which covers destinations including Australia, South Africa and the USA will be reduced from £6 a day to £2 a day. Sky Mobile customers will be able to use data from their plans while abroad – Sky says this will help customers avoid costly charges for exceeding their data allowance while roaming.
