Sky chief executive Jeremy Darroch pocketed a bumper £17m in pay and bonuses in the year to the end of June, more than triple what he took home the previous year.
Darroch, who led Sky’s £7bn takeover of its sister operations in Germany and Italy last year, received total remuneration of £16.88m for the year.
In the previous year, Darroch was paid a relatively paltry £4.88m in total.
Darroch’s £984,750 base salary was topped up by a bumper payout of £11.8m as one of Sky’s long-term incentive plans vested.
He also received the maximum bonus, 200% of base salary, of £1.96m.
Darroch’s pay almost tripled because Sky’s long-term incentive programme only vests every second year.
In 2013, he received more than £17m when his pay was sweetened by a £12.5m LTIP payout.
Finance chief Andrew Griffith was paid £8.86m in the year to the end of June, well over triple the £2.4m he received the previous year.
Griffith received a salary of £620,000 a bonus of £930,000 and a £6.3m LTIP payout.
