Sky Broadband down: Major outage affects Cardiff and southern England

Sky Broadband engineers are working to resolve an internet outage affecting parts of south Wales and southern England.

The outage is thought to have occurred on Wednesday evening and thousands of users are believed to be affected.

Messages posted by the company on Twitter say workers are trying to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

But many customers have taken to social media to express their frustration and just want their internet to be working once more.

So, why has Sky Broadband gone down and what has the company said about it? Here’s what we know.

Why is Sky Broadband down?

Sky Broadband is down because of an “issue at exchanges”, according to a report in the Independent , but further details are not known.

According to the website Down Detector, large parts of Cardiff, south Wales, south-east England and London are thought to be affected.

Many users have taken to social media to ask the company when the issue is going to be resolved.

What has Sky said about the outage?

Sky has released several statements since the outage began.

Its latest message reads: “Engineers are still currently on site and working towards a resolution to restore services ASAP. More updates to follow when available. You can keep up to date on the My Sky app.”

Those experiencing issues, therefore, should have them resolved soon.
