Sky broadband down as thousands report connectivity issues across the UK

Thousands of Sky customers are reporting their broadband service is down this morning.

More than 2,000 customers have reported issues with internet connectivity to outage website Downdetector.co.uk since around 6am, with the majority of problems occurring across the southern half of the UK.

A heat map shows the greatest concentration of outages in London.

A significant number of reports have also originated from south Wales, including in Newport, Cardiff, Swansea, and Carmarthen.

One customer, from Barry, tweeted: "Service status (when I finally got on to it) said all systems fine, but clearly not - can't access most websites."

Another person wrote: "Same here in Caerphilly ... hope it's not gonna be for much longer."

The provider has confirmed it's aware of 'an issue' with its broadband service and is working to correct it.

A spokesperson for the Sky customer service said: "We are aware of an issue affecting some of our customers broadband across parts of the UK, we’re sorry for this. We have the right people working hard to fix this."

They have not estimated a time for when the service will be restored; however, an update will be provided at 1pm.

There are no known issues with Sky TV or Sky TV Apps.

Status updates are available on the Sky website.
