Sky Broadband down as thousands of customers left without internet

Thousands of Sky customers have been left without internet due to a broadband outage.

Residents across the UK have reported the problem to Sky, with some going without online access since last night.

Issues were mainly reported in London, Cardiff and Brighton, but customers in Glasgow and Dundee have also been affected.

According to the complaints tracking website Downdetector, more than 2,000 complaints were made at the height of the crash at about 9.30pm last night.

The problems have continued this morning, with more than 1,000 complaints logged so far.

The Sky Help Team posted on social media to reassure customers that they are working on fixing the connection issues.

They wrote: "Engineers are on site and working to restore service ASAP.

"You can keep up to date on the My Sky App and check your service status here: http://sky.com/mybroadband

"We're very sorry for the inconvenience caused."

Customers also took to social media to complain.

One wrote: "My internet came back at about 10pm last night and went off again at about 11:20, still down.

"Any ETA on a fix? I work from home and now can’t!"

Another added: "Yesterday and today our broadband has continued to drop jeopardising work quality and business growth - what are you doing to fix this? From a loyal (for now) customer."
