Saints captain Joe Shaughnessy believes his battling Buddies showed great heart to grab another late leveller against Hibs.
Just as he did in September, the Irishman popped up with a dramatic equaliser at the death to ensure St Mirren pinched a point from the Easter Road side.
And the former St Johnstone captain insists the Paisley side simply don’t know when they’re beaten, especially when they face off with the capital club.
Shaughnessy told Renfrewshire Live Sport: “It was just a relief not to lose. We picked up another point to put on the board and I think, in the end, we deserved the draw.
“Their goal was scrappy and, other than that, they didn’t cause us too many problems, although we didn’t trouble them too much either. It was a fair result.
“My goal was similar to the one I scored to give us a 2-2 draw at Easter Road from an almost identical delivery from Scott Tanser.

“I’d decided to try and get into the middle of their box and, luckily, I made a great connection.
“I just don’t want them to win!
“It was important not to get beat, especially on the kind of run that we’re on because heads might drop but that’s not really a characteristic of this team.
“We keep fighting.”
Shaughnessy admits the Buddies were below par once again at the SMiSA Stadium, with the goal-shy side scoring just their third goal in their last seven games.
He is adamant the wins will come, and pointed to his former Perth side’s slide to the bottom of the Premiership table as proof the standard of the top flight has risen significantly this season.
Shaughnessy said: “I don’t know what the answer is regarding our lack of goals.
“We just keep on working and training hard and, hopefully, things will start dropping for us.
“Strikers need a goal to get them off and running so it should just take one of them to bundle the ball over the line to get them going.
“If the rest of us keep chipping in with goals as well then that can only help.
“The wins will come.
“We’re only three points worse off than we were at the same stage last season and we’ll go on a good run eventually.
“This division is as tight and competitive as it’s ever been so we’ve just got to keep on going until that time comes.
“St Johnstone won two cups last season and now they’re at the foot of the table.
“But that’s the league we’re in this year – every team is genuinely capable of beating every other team and it’s going to be like that until the end of the season.”
