Police are hunting a thug who attacked and robbed a woman on a city street in broad daylight.
The 61-year-old was walking on Linden Street at 10.20am on Friday when the thug ran at her from behind, grabbed and pulled her handbag, causing her to fall tothe ground.
The yob ran off leaving his frightened victim extremely shaken, but thankfully uninjured. He is described as 5ft 8ins, with a skinny build, and wearing dark clothes and trainers.
Constable Sarah-Lee MacFarlane is investigating the attack, and appealed to the community to help her identify the brute responsible.
She said: "I would urge any local residents or dog walkers who saw anything suspicious to get in touch. Also, I would ask any motorists with dashcam footage who were in the area around the time of the incident to contact police."
