GREATER NOIDA: In yet another step taken by the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) to promote the skillset of the youth of the region, the authority has tied up with Aadhar Housing Finance Ltd, a Mumbai-based company that will provide training to local youth as per the need of the industry.
For this, the company will first, survey the industries and requirements of the region and then provide appropriate training to the people.
GNIDA already has four skill development centres (SDCs) operational in the city and has tie-ups with the National Skill Development Commission (NSDC), Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM) and various industrial organizations.
“The company made a presentation at the Greater Noida Authority office on Wednesday where it was agreed that they will provide the necessary training to the local youths post a survey of the region. In the survey, they will assess the various kinds of industries in Greater Noida and the kind of workforce required. After the study, they will present a blueprint and tie-up with any other training organization that will provide training to the youth as per the need of the industries,” said Amandeep Duli, ACEO GNIDA.
While CEO Narendra Bhooshan assured all cooperation to the company in running the training centre with the aim of providing employment to the local youth, so far 36 youths from an earlier training programme have already found job placement.
“We started the first SDC on July 27 last year at Tradex Tower, Sector Alpha 1 and Mubarikpur (Surajpur) where 140 students enrolled in the first batch. They got three months of training in the telecom trade. Of the 140 students, 55 applied for placements and 36 students got the job, most of them as sales executive in different telecom companies. Majority of these students are from Gautam Budh Nagar,’ said Bhooshan.
Bhooshan added that while most of the students are educated up to 12th standard, efforts are on to find a placement for the remaining students as well.
