A skier has been captured tumbling 1,600 feet down a mountain side in what his colleague described as 'the most terrifying crash I've ever seen.'
Ian McIntosh was attempting to tackle a particularly steep peak in Alaska's Neacola mountain range when just a few turns in, he fell into a five foot-deep trench.
The veteran skier can be seen losing his skis and cartwheeling uncontrollably towards the bottom of the mountain, covering 1,600ft in under a minute.
Cries of pain can be heard each time Mr McIntosh appears to hit the snow before he finally comes to rest and can be heard shouting 'I'm OK, I'm OK.'
Any details of injuries were not included in the video's description.
After encountering the trench, the pro skier said how "there was no way to stop, I pulled my airbag to help prevent against any possible trauma injuries as I tumbled to the bottom."
