Ski slopes in France will not be open this February

It is 'highly improbable' that ski slopes in France will be open to tourists this February, according to the country's tourism minister.

Tourism Minister Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne said ski-lifts will remain closed.

France has kept its resorts open this winter, but has closed lifts in a bid to deter tourists.

Current restrictions mean that Brits arriving in France have to sign a sworn statement saying that they are free from Covid symptoms, and they have to have a signed travel certificate declaring a reason for essential travel.

Lockdown rules in the UK ban international travel except for essential reasons.

Anyone coming into the UK needs to have a negative Covid test taken within 72 hours, and must self-isolate for 10 days on arrival in the UK.
