Ski mask yob torched car on Scots street in late night attack as manhunt launched

Police are hunting a ski mask wearing yob after a car was deliberately targeted in a late night fire attack.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Anchor Crescent in Paisley at around 12.30am on Saturday, September 25.

Fire crews were able to extinguish the flames which engulfed the motor without any injuries reported.

However, their enquiries have now revealed that the car was deliberately set on fire.

Investigators have released a description of the male suspect who they are keen to trace.

He is believed to be approximately 5ft 7in in height and was wearing dark clothing and a black ski mask at the time.

Detective Constable James Campbell said: “Thankfully no-one was injured as a result of this completely reckless act.

“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or with any information which may assist enquiries to get in touch.”
