Skeletal remains found in Alabama may be that of UFC fighter's missing stepdaughter Aniah Blanchard

Skeletal remains found in Alabama may be that of missing college student Aniah Blanchard, according to authorities.

The bleak news comes one month after Blanchard was last seen alive on Oct. 23 at a convenience store in Auburn.

"I can confirm that human remains have been found in Macon County on County Road 2 and we have good reason to believe they are that of Aniah Blanchard," Lee County District Attorney Brandon Hughes wrote in an email to the Daily News on Monday.

Auburn cops said in a statement that a "complete investigation is underway" to determine the identity "and how the victim came to be at that location."

Blanchard, 19, is the stepdaughter of UFC heavyweight fighter Walt Harris. Two suspects are charged with kidnapping and are in custody, including one who was seen forcing Blanchard into her vehicle and driving away.

Blood evidence from the vehicle, which was later recovered in Montgomery, shows that Blanchard suffered a "life-threatening injury," according to police.

Authorities say Ibraheem Yazeed forced the Southern Union State Community College student into the car, and it is alleged that second suspect Antwain Fisher disposed of evidence. Fisher was arrested Friday night.

Yazeed was arrested earlier this month.
