Butlin's to reopen - here's all the new safety measures being introduced

Skegness' popular resort Butlin's is set to reopen its doors with new measures in place to ensure guests can still have fun.

Butlin's has been closed for months due to the coronavirus pandemic, but it looks set to open again as the country comes out of lockdown.

Fantasy Island announced it would be opening its rides and attractions to the public next month, reports Lincolnshire Live.

And Butlin's said its resorts are set to reopen on July 16 with new rules will be in place.

There will be floor markers to ensure everyone keeps their social distancing.

They will also be putting on more shows to ensure as many guests as possible can see the main performances.

The bar will also be open with with a contactless app being created.

The Redcoats will also be back in work and the arcades will be opened.

The company's website added:  "We will be making some changes to the way we operate and Sir Billy’s Fairground will be open and ready for business.

"You'll be asked to sanitise your hands when you enter and exit every ride, plus extra cleaning rotations will be in place between ride sessions.

"We’re going to be limiting the number of guests that can be seated at any one time to ensure social distancing is maintained.

"Despite all of this, you'll still be free to ride again and again.

"We very much hope to have our swimming pools open and we've been following the guidance of Swim England to help us understand how to do so safely so we've got the plans in place when the Government give us the go-ahead.

"We expect to get the nod soon to switch on the pumps and let you swim ‘til you’re wrinkly, and you’ll be the first to know when we do.

"It's been a strange few months of worry, video chats and quizzes, daily walks, and keeping ourselves entertained.

"But we wanted you to know that we're preparing our resorts and redesigning elements of the Butlin's experience, ready to welcome you back when we're allowed to do so.

"If we've learnt one thing during lockdown, it's how much we value time with our friends and family. Get ready to lessen the distance between you and your loved ones and get back to having fun together.

"Get back to silliness, being entertained, enjoying yourself and making brilliant new memories away from home.

"It's not likely to be a year any of us will forget, but let's finish it on a high."
