Skechers burns Nike over the Zion Williamson incident

Nike’s stock dropped more than one percent the day after Zion Williamson’s freak shoe blowout during arguably the biggest game of the college basketball regular season against North Carolina, and one of their competitors is taking advantage of the mishap by trolling Nike in an ad.

Skechers is actually a (minor) player in the basketball shoe market, believe it or not, and they responded to the Zion incident with a new tagline: “We won’t split on you.”

According to Bleacher Report, the Skechers ad will run in Sunday’s edition of the New York Times sports section.

Williamson has yet to return from his knee injury, and was on the bench as a spectator for Duke’s home game against Miami on Saturday.
