Skate Story Launching on December 8 - New Details and Trailer

Sam Eng, the sole developer behind Skate Story, has announced the game will launch on December 8 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2.

In Skate Story, players step into the role of a demon made of glass and pain, trapped in the depths of the Underworld. The Devil offers a way out: skate to the Moon, consume it and earn freedom. As you move through the bleak landscapes of the Emptylands, players will grind, ollie and kickflip through a world of ash and smoke. Each motion requires precision and control, turning every trick into a small moment of beauty.

One of the best parts of skateboarding is setting up a new board and Skate Story leans into that feeling. Every trick, grind and slide slowly wears down your deck, leaving marks that tell the story of how you skate. Focus on nose tricks and you’ll see the nose chip away, spend time on tailslides and the tail will start to show its wear.

Along the way you’ll come across gift shops offering items crafted just for your soul. You can trade in pieces of that leased soul for new decks, trucks and wheels, then make the setup your own with stickers. Stickers don’t just add style, they give your deck a bit more life. But once you place one, it’s permanent unless you grind it off. Over time, stickers fade and peel, a reminder that everything in Skate Story eventually wears away.

On PlayStation 5, the experience takes on an extra layer through the DualSense controller. The light bar glows as you move, casting reflections that echo the skater’s glass body and the haunting lights of the Underworld.

To survive the journey, players will have to take down celestial beasts using the skateboard itself. Each trick adds to a combo meter, with higher rewards for speed, creativity and variety. Mix things up, keep your flow going and when the time feels right, stomp the combo to unleash its full energy. The damage spreads out in a burst, resetting your line and setting you up for the next run.
