Skating-simulator Skate will be launching in early access on PC and consoles as a free-to-play title, and it could be one of the sleeper hits of September.
Revealed earlier at Gamescom 2025, the early access launch is sandwiched between the big-ticket launches of Borderlands 4 and FC 26. Despite launching in early access, the game will offer plenty of content for fans. Let's first look at when the game will go live across all platforms.

Skate release countdown
Skate's early access will be available on both PC and console. Most early access launches usually only arrive on PC, but developers Full Circle aim to follow a different route. While the date was announced earlier in the trailer, the countdown below will help you to keep track.
The countdown is based on the following timings.
- 10am PT
- 12pm CT
- 1pm ET
- 5pm UTC
- 6pm BST
- 7pm CEST
The timing is available on the official store pages of both Xbox and PlayStation, while Steam will also give a similar estimate. There's no pre-load available, so you'll have to wait for the launch to download and try out the content.

Skate early access features
Skate will be the franchise's next chapter, where you can enjoy Flick-It controls in a physics-based skateboarding world. We will also experience the highly dynamic city of San Vansterdam, where the community will come together.
You can skate across various city locations and experience the new controls. Showing off new skills and making progress will allow you to get different rewards and display your progress to other members in the community. Players will also have the ability to create their own spots to skate with friends. Some features might not be available at launch, but trying the game out won't cost you anything.
