Police say a shooting at a skate park in Lancashire was a 'targeted attack' A man in his 30s was found with a gunshot wound to his leg and taken to hospital following the shooting in Skelmersdale on Wednesday night.
Emergency services were called to the park on Birch Green Road just after 6.10pm. Officers have said at this stage they are treating the attack as targeted but want to reassure residents, LancsLive reports.

Extra patrols, including mounted officers, will be in the area over the coming days and residents are urged to speak to officers if they are worried. The man's injury is not believed to be life-threatening at this time.
Currently, no arrests have been made, and enquiries are continuing. Chief Insp Al Davies, of Lancs Police, said: “We know that the local community will be concerned by this incident, and I want to make it very clear that gun crime will not be tolerated on our streets.
“Were you in the Birch Green Road area at the time? Did you witness anything suspicious? I would encourage anyone with information or CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage to come forward because it could be vital to our investigation.”
"As part of our enquiries, some areas are still closed off whilst police investigate, and we are aware that this will be causing some disruption."
