After Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, the all-new Skate is one of the best things to happen in the skateboarding universe. With its catchy art style and out-of-the-box mechanics, this game is a breath of fresh air for all skating fans.
However, similar to any other video game, Skate presents some challenging tasks that can be confusing to complete without guidance. One of those challenges is increasing your slam distance. With that in mind, today we’ll discuss what it takes to increase slam distance in Skate, which is crucial for nailing the GOOOOOOAL! Task.
What’s The GOOOOOOAL! Challenge?

In Skate, the GOOOOOOAL! challenge involves several small tasks, which you have to complete simultaneously.
To begin, you have to jump from a rooftop, hit the top of the skateshop roof, get a slam distance of 25m, and land in a dumpster. The 25m of slam distance is where most players are struggling; however, by following the steps below, you can complete this task in no time.
What Is Slam Distance In Skate?

As the name already suggests, the term ‘slam distance’ means the distance covered after slamming into something. Here, this refers to the skateshop roof. In layman’s terms, it measures how far the skater travels in either one of these poses after the initial slam:
- Torpedo: R1 + Circle (PlayStation) or RB + B (Xbox)
- Spread Eagle: R1 + X (PlayStation) or RB + A (Xbox)
These tricks are essential for increasing your slam distance, so keep them in mind as we move ahead.
Steps For Increasing Slam Distance In Skate

To increase your slam distance in Skate, you’ll be using the combination of Spread Eagles and a Torpedo. Follow these steps to nail the process:
- Start skating towards the ramp and ollie at the end
- Once airborne, transition into the spread eagle and cover some distance
- Your first impact needs to be around the star on the roof. Try to aim your blue circle just beside it
- When you have the position locked in, switch to a torpedo as soon as you’re about to land
- Your impact will give you a big boost
- Now, glide towards the dumpster and keep spamming spread eagles whenever you get air time
- Finally, land smoothly after achieving the 25m slam distance
That’s how you increase slam distance in Skate. Remember, you might hit the ground once again after the torpedo, just transition into the spread eagle to gain air time, and glide into the dumpster.
