The skate. team has released Volume 5 of The Grind, diving into customization, the music and atmosphere of San Vansterdam and giving a glimpse at the seasonal content set to roll out after Early Access begins, along with what to expect from the skate.Pass.
Players can customize their skater using rewards earned through gameplay or optional premium items bought with San Van Bucks. The Shop clearly shows what each purchase includes, but most gear can be unlocked simply by playing.
When starting out, players create their skater by choosing body type, height, facial features, hair and voice. Once the skater is ready, it’s time to pick outfits and a skateboard. Starting options are basic, but completing in-game Challenges and Missions earns Rip Chips, which can be used to unlock more gear in the Shop.

Advancing your Rip Score and Neighborhood score opens up even more apparel, accessories, boards and other customization options, giving players plenty of ways to make their skater feel truly unique.
The soundtrack in skate. includes around 100 songs, highlighting emerging artists alongside deeper cuts to help players discover new music. Players can browse it by pressing down on the D-Pad and selecting the headphones icon, then choose from playlists like DO A KICKFLIP!, SV Local Classics and Down Low Radio.
Community favorites appear in the San Van Jams playlist, based on the tracks most liked across all platforms. Players can favorite playlists or individual songs to build a personalized collection, adjust volume with the triggers or mute quickly using the Quick Access wheel.
Music can also be found naturally throughout the city, coming from skate spots, buildings and passing cars. Tracks collected with Grabster appear under the Newly Discovered category.

The team will expand the soundtrack each season, keeping fan favorites and adding new tracks. The selection reflects the variety of skate culture, covering multiple genres to match different skaters and players. Early Access will feature about 100 tracks, including Turnstile, Denzel Curry, Little Simz, Skegss, Earth, Wind & Fire and MF Doom, with more to come.
skate. will roll out seasons with themed content that updates the world, game features, events to reflect each new period. Seasons are expected to run about three months each, giving four per year, with the first starting shortly after Early Access. Full details will be shared in The Grind: Vol. 6 next month.
Each season will bring new cosmetics, customization options, music and activities. Players can also access the skate.Pass, offering free and paid tracks, seasonal challenges and rewards to keep skaters engaged. Check out The Grind: Vol. 5 for additional details.
