Quinn Wunar tweeted last Wednesday, “I battled the wind today at Adler [Planetarium] for this beautiful fish.”
He had no measurements, for his own good reasons.
“I grew up fishing on my dad and uncle’s boat out of Winthrop [Harbor] back in the ‘90s and I only take weight trolling,” he explained. “Fishing from shore is so tough that when I hook up I appreciate every fish Individually as opposed to chasing pounds or weight. I know it’s silly and a lot of my friends and fellow fishermen were busting my chops for not getting at least a weight on that brown. But I like the fact that it’ll always be a big beautiful silver/chrome mystery.”
Here’s a better view to size up Wunar’s fish on your own.

FOTW, the celebration of big fish and their stories (the stories matter, as this one shows) around Chicago fishing, runs Wednesdays in the paper Sun-Times. The online posting here at https://chicago.suntimes.com/outdoors goes up at varied days of the week, depending on what is going on the wide world of the outdoors.
