Sixty-year-old woman critical in hospital after she is knocked over in Swansea

A 60-year-old woman is in a critical condition in hospital after she was hit by a car while crossing a carriageway.

The serious crash happened on the A4067 Cwm Level roundabout, Swansea, at 5pm on Sunday, September 20.

The female pedestrian was hit by a blue Ford Kuga as she was crossing the carriageway.

She was initially taken to Morriston Hospital but was then transferred to the University Hospital Wales, Cardiff, where she remains in a critical condition.

Police have confirmed that the driver of the Ford Kuga, a 38-year-old man, has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in police custody.

A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said: "We are appealing for information after a serious road traffic collision which happened at about 5pm yesterday (20 September) on the A4067 Cwm Level roundabout, Swansea.

"Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, has dash-cam footage, or may have witnessed the manner of driving of the Ford Kuga prior to the collision are asked to contact South Wales Police on 101 quoting occurrence 2000344867."
