A sixth man has been charged over a wild nightclub brawl that resulted in the alleged stabbing murder of Comanchero bikie boss Pitasoni Ulavalu, but his name cannot be published amid fears of reprisal attacks.
The 27-year-old Canberra man was arrested on Thursday and appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court, charged with affray, on Friday morning.
He did not apply for bail or enter a plea, and he was remanded in custody.
His lawyer, Stephanie Beckedahl, successfully applied for a non-publication order to suppress the man's name.
Ms Beckedahl told Magistrate Beth Campbell there was a real risk that public identification of the man might make him the target of "reprisals".
However, she conceded that it was unclear whether the other people with an interest in the July 19 fight, which took place at Kokomo's in Civic, already knew who the man was.
Prosecutor Keegan Lee did not oppose Ms Beckedahl's application, saying the "unusual circumstances" of this case meant there was "an increased risk" to the man's safety.
There have been a number of developments in the case in recent days, with Detective Superintendent Scott Moller revealing on Thursday that police had found what they suspected to be the murder weapon.
The knife was located in a stormwater drain in Turner last week, about 300 metres from where the alleged killer was last captured on camera.
It is now undergoing forensic analysis to determine whether it was indeed the weapon used to stab Mr Ulavalu, the Comancheros' Canberra chapter commander, in the neck.
Also on Thursday, a 26-year-old Canberra man was locked up after appearing in court on an affray charge linked to the Kokomo's incident. His name was also suppressed.
The two men detained in recent days join four others who were remanded in custody last week, when police made their first major breakthroughs in the investigation.
On Wednesday last week, western Sydney man Frederick Elijah Mercy Tuifua was charged with the murder of Mr Ulavalu.
He was arrested at a hospital emergency department in Canberra alongside Sydney brothers Matthew and Osaiasi Kupu, who have been charged with affray.
They were accompanied by another man, Canberran Maximilian Ellis Kurt Budack, who had suffered three bullet wounds in an incident that remains under investigation. He has also been charged with affray over the July 19 fight at Kokomo's.
None of the six defendants have entered pleas or applied for bail.
They are all due to appear in court again later this month.
